MarriageMondays: Honeymooning @ Din Tai Fung
There’s endless goodies to try when you’re in Taiwan. Too much goodies in fact in my opinion. Din Tai Fung is another place I have to go to when I’m in Taipei. I introduced it’s scrumptiousness to Dustin in our second day in Taiwan.

I was first introduced to this restaurant by my friends Cristina and John. They know their way around Taipei’s yummiest. Prior to them taking me, I’ve never tried it since my aunts who live in Taiwan are very anti-anything that’s mainstream. But if you do choose to go visit, there’s always a long wait during lunch and dinner hours. We happened to stop by around 2pm so the rush had already cleared out.

I ordered some of my favorites: steamed pork dumplings. The wrapping is so thin and the pork inside is so juicy and delicious! Careful though, it’s really hot at first.
The interesting about Taiwanese (Chinese) food is that in our culture, we serve everything HOT! I mean, piping hot. If it’s not tongue burning hot, it’s considered bad. So just beware.

The restaurant even has instruction manuels on the tables instructing guests how to eat the steamed dumpling in multiple languages. A sure sign that it’s a tourist hot spot.

inside view of the glorious dumpling…..drooling on my keyboard right now

another favorite of mine, this is called 空心菜, pronounced: kong-tsing-tsai. I looked it up in the dictionary and it’s called water spinach in English. Not sure of the definition though. Anyone have a better definition? Well my mouth defines it as SO SO SO SO good. Just simply stir fried with some garlic and salt. So fresh and so YUM!

another favorite of mine at Din Tai Fung is their pork friend rice. I especially love eating it with their porcelein spoons. So silky smooth…so good….so far away from me right now..sigh*
By the way, Din Tai Fung has chains in L.A. (of course, the land of Asians), Seattle (random), Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. So if you’re blessed to be near one of those places, head on over and order everything I did!!

Hope you guys enjoyed Din Tai Fung…cause I surely did hehe ; P
