Biblical Femininity by guest Blogger: Becky Falkner
I’m so excited and blessed to be sharing with you a post from my small group leader Becky Falkner. Becky and her husband Bob are not only parents to five beautiful, awesome and godly children, but they are also spiritual parents to many in our IHOP-KC community.
Both Bob and Becky have been mentoring and counseling single and married couples in the local area for many years. I have grown so much this past year under her leadership through our women’s group called WOTTs (women of Titus 2) and It’s my honor and pleasure to share a post from her today with you all! I hope it blesses you. Let me know what you think of her definition of what a woman is!

For over a year I have been on a journey with a group of young women that was initiated from the command for the older women to train up the young women in Titus 2:3-5.
As an older woman in this ever growing youth movement (IHOP-KC), I am passionate for women to see and know themselves rightly according to God’s perspective and for them to know and experience success in their single and married lives.
Comparable to the parable of the sower, I want to cultivate the good soil in these young women’s hearts in our small group. Just as a seed takes root in the good soil and grows to bear fruit without effort, we too begin to grow and bear fruit as the truth is planted deeply in our hearts.
A transformed heart, one watered with faith in God’s truth stimulates fruitfulness from us without us being conscious of it, similar to a seed that naturally bears fruit in due season. When watered with His Word and time under the light of His countenance, our hearts begin to come alive effortlessly and unconsciously, living from God’s perspective rather than our own.
As one connects with God at the heart level, getting in touch with how He thinks about us, how He interacts with us, transformation takes place. It is there, in continual intimacy with the Lord where new beliefs are planted in the soil of our hearts.
We want our hearts to be ever alive with God’s reality, His seeds of truth planted deeply in us. For it is in our hearts where we surrender our views and opinions to accept His higher views and opinions of us and the world. It is in our hearts where we exchange our reality (oftentimes comprised of lies the enemy tells us) for His truth that is full of light and life.
As we acknowledge the truth, meditate on it, imagine it, consider it, think upon it, rehearse it, write it on our hearts, we begin to experience who we really are! Who God says we are.
We are not to strive to change but rather to experience the power of being, living, resting in Christ.
Being a Godly, biblically feminine woman is saying yes to this transformation process in our hearts. It is His beauty, grace, power, love all unfolding in us layer by layer as we rest in Him, exchange our beliefs for His.
True femininity is being a willing vessel to receive and take what God gives. It is the gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in His sight.
I challenged my young women this week to look in the mirror each day and be very honest about what they see when they look at themselves. Then they are to ask the Lord for His thoughts towards them. The challenge is to take a good look at the impressions, feelings and thoughts that come.
Removing the pretense we convince ourselves of, that we’re really ok by taking time to tune in to what we think about ourselves is a practical step towards discernment. This act helps us expose the lies and also teaches us to hold fast to the truth. It awakens us to the lies that are swimming daily in our minds and quenching them by the declaration of what God sees in us.
Discernment is a skill we continually grow in as we stare down lies and declare truth.
As we receive what He offers, gives, speaks, by faith, over and over, day by day, we become the Godly, feminine, beautiful women we were created to be. We are practicing believing and agreeing with God every day!
My challenge to you today is ‘let yourself be loved by God!’ It’s so wonderful!!
