website Wednesdays: Julie Morris Superfoods

Though it may not seem like it from my instagrams, I do enjoy eating healthy and taking good care of my body. Recently, I discovered a wonderful cook book through my sister-in-law, Jess. She’s really into eating healthy and has been doing it far longer than I have.

This past weekend, while Dustin and I were skyping with her, she shared about this new cookbook she got called Superfood Cuisine by Julie Morris. As she described the quinoa pasta she made topped with a creamy sauce made out of cashews, I was intrigued and salivating. I began googling this book, searching for it on amazon and trying to find whether or not Julie Morris had a website. 

Eating healthy is not mainly for weight loss sake, though nowadays many are forced to adjust their diets due to health risks and weight issues. What you put into your body will heavily influence your energy level, your ability to concentrate and think not to mention many other areas of your life. I believe it’s something everyone should take time to be educated in and incorporate into our daily lives.

Healthy doesn’t mean tasteless and gaging at the dinner table though. Despite the fact that it may take some time to adjust to the flavor and texture of healthier foods (especially if you’re accustomed to fries, nuggets and coke) how healthy food stimulate a better standard of living will become addicting. Also, with cookbooks coming out like Julie’s, healthy eating can actually taste amazing! 

I know it may be difficult for those of you who live in a city that is filled with glorious foods to choose from (like Taipei or New York), but slowly as you try to incorporate even small amounts of healthy foods in your life, I believe that you will feel so much better and have a lot more energy that you can’t help but crave more.
