life based art

Much of art today is birthed from a place of pain and hopelessness. We naturally associate art with cigarettes, alcohol and a bottle of depression to top it off. Yet this was not always the case.

The first Artist dreamed up the idea of the sea curtained by skirts of white billowed clouds. He drew branches and hung each delicate leaf on its limbs. He has been painting cascading shades of sunsets since the first daylight kissed this earth.  Yet somehow, after years of creating, He’s still capable of never repeating a color scheme. He creates unique things.

Born to two artists, one a painter the other a pianist, I struggled for years to detach myself from the strong dark grasps of earthly art. It has taken a long time, but the Lord has finally led me to a place where I feel free to create, to dream and to do it with Jesus rather than far from His hand holding mine.

Below are a few of what God and I created together. The process of each creation, whether it be a photo, painting or a song drew me closer to our Creator’s beating heart. I pray that each piece will illuminate your heart to see Christ, the lover of our souls.
